Thanksgiving Holiday

I had two sisters and my brother here in my house with their spouses and their kids since Wednesday.  Needless to say, I was very busy with doing dishes all day long, cooking and cleaning all day long, and did not get anything else done.  I was very nice spending time with my family for the holiday and we had a family devotional about what family is all about, according to the bible.  We also went around the room to each person and had to say what we were thankful for.  Even the kids were involved.  It was awesome!  I think we just developed our family tradition and demonstrated to our children what is really important in life, and it sure is family instead of the material objects.  Through the sharing of all of our life happenings, we definitely could see how God has worked in our daily lives and that he is with our families everyday.  We realized he has given us each other for support through life.  Amazing!

Unit 6 Project

I completed my unit 6 project on stomach cancer and happy with how it turned out.  I am hoping I do not have to make alot of changes, although, when I did my post-draft outline, I found I did not have an introduction paragraph including my thesis.  So, I thought doing the post-draft outline was a good idea the teacher was asking us to do one, or I would have never realized I missed the introduction paragraph.

My husband went hunting last night and shot a beautiful 6 point buck.  Meat for the winter, yay!

I am so excited to have made it this far in class.  I think the different techniques I read about will help me in writing my paper.  I cannot recall every using or learning about any of these techniques in the past.  Perhaps, this is why I had such a hard time writing.  Who knows! 
I chose the Freewriting and Brainstorming Techniques because it seemed my brain flowed with ideas under these two techniques.  The other ones seemed more difficult for some reason, to many steps to them.  I have a hard time writing anyway, coming up with ideas, and freewriting was easy.  I wrote directly from my thoughts and experiences while working in the hospital. 
Brainstorming is very similar to the documentation we have to use in the hospital.  Just listing the facts, but in this case, ideas. 
It definitely worked with how my brain functions, list ideas, facts, and be done with it. 

Cold Day in Michigan

November 6, 2010, Friday - A cold and gloomy day in Michigan today with a little bit of snow flying but not hardly enough to stick to the ground.  Days like this are days to be lazy, stay inside and sleep with a nice big warm blanklet.  I did not clean the house or do laundry and I don't even care.  For someone who has a type A personality, it is something seldom done because I have to be clean and organized all the time.  If I am not, I cannot function because it is in the back of my mind for the whole day, "I should have cleaned the house and finished my laundry.  I am having too much fun being out of the house and I have to go back to the mess, yuck".  My kids are a different story, of course.  They could care less if their room is cleaned, their clothes are washed, their bed is not made, dirty clothes on the floor and they are walking over them, or if the house is dirty.  I wonder how they can live like this, in filth.  Argh!

Today, I spent doing my reading for the writing class, taking notes and trying my best to take all the information in so I can understand what proper writing is.  So far so good, and feel good about the homework I have completed.  I think I cited my work properly because we have to give proper credit to those who did the work, otherwise is called "plagiarism" if we do not cite properly.  It is not hard to cite work in our writing but still have some issues with completing a proper and full citation from different sources.  I am sure it is something that takes alot of practice to do and I will get the hang of it. 

Voting Day

Today, November 2, 2010, Tuesday was a day I have been waiting for, "VOTING DAY".  This is a day that will affect everybody in the United States and all over the world.  We will see how the American people about how things have currently been going all over.  This is the "change" we have all been waiting for.
